Investment of USD 100,000 in teak reforestation. This option grants two years of temporary residence, after which the applicant can apply for permanent residence.
Investment of USD 350,000 in teak reforestation. This option grants immediate permanent residence.

Applicants must meet the following criteria and procedures

Applicants must submit completed application forms along with the required fees and supporting documents. These documents should include details about the investment funds, their source (from abroad), and the investor’s general information. Depending on the chosen investment route, the following documentation may be required: certificates from the Panama Public Registry, the National Authority of Land Ownership, the Securities House, and a license or registration certificate from the Panama Stock Exchange. Additionally, authenticated copies of the resolution granting the entity holding the invested securities and a copy of the time deposit certificate must be provided.

Once the initial due diligence checks are completed, the application can be submitted. After further due diligence, the applicant can fulfill the remaining requirements, and the application may be approved.

Permanent residence permits are issued immediately (subject to review by the National Immigration Service) under the Qualified Investor and Forestry Investor routes. For the Friendly Nations route, permanent residence is granted after holding a temporary residence permit for two years.

Panamanian Citizenship Following Residence by Investment

Successful applicants can apply for Panamanian citizenship after five years of residence. Citizens of certain Latin American countries and Spain may be eligible to acquire citizenship after one to three years. Donations and bank deposits must be transferred to a dedicated account of the Citizenship by Investment Unit at the Central Bank of Egypt Treasury.
